Bring a finished paper mache pumpkin to the front desk any day the branch is open in October. Judges pick winners in a few categories, and the library will say who won by Nov 7. Paper is available at the desk if you need it.

The museum waives Train Shed admission every Wednesday through December 16. The Railway History Campus, where the shed sits, is open 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. that day. Later Wednesdays in this stretch are October 14, 21, and 28, and November 4.

The Northwest Railway Museum runs a family ride from the Snoqualmie Depot, with another boarding point in North Bend. Coaches are dressed for fall. At the stop by the Train Shed there is cider pressing, apple coring, crafts, and music. Costumes are welcome if you can manage the steps. Tickets are required for ages 2 and up. Departures from Snoqualmie start at 11:00 a.m. and run every two hours.

Spooktacular Halloween
Starts at 35018 SE Ridge Street
A free city afternoon in three stops. Begin on Snoqualmie Ridge, walk to the trunk-or-treat in the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA parking lot (that stop runs until 3:00 p.m.), and continue into historic downtown. The YMCA leg is co-sponsored by the city and Sno Falls Credit Union.
Treasure Hunt

Two clue trails, one for children and one for teens and adults. Finish the map and race for the prize. The first finishers in each trail win something, and there are snacks. The teen advisory board planned it, with help from the Friends of the library. Come alone or in a group.

Yuletide Express Santa Train

A Santa train for families from the Snoqualmie Depot, $30 for ages 2 and up, and no ticket under 2. The round trip past Snoqualmie Falls is about 40 minutes. Santa visits each family on board, and riders get a small gift and a peppermint. It runs Friday, Dec 4, Dec 11, and Dec 18. Tickets are on sale now. Buy ahead. Trains run rain or shine, and the museum does not refund tickets unless the train does not run.
