Once the Halloween costumes are put away, it is time to start thinking about the tree. Every farm below is checked on its own site. Most open the weekend before Thanksgiving or the day after, and the u-cut fields at the busy farms thin out fast over the first two weekends. Bring boots, a tarp for the car, and a rope or two. Most farms lend saws and will shake and bale the tree.

When a farm has not posted its 2026 dates yet, we say so and give last year’s pattern instead. Check the farm’s page before you drive out.

Redmond

McMurtrey Farm at 13925 Redmond-Woodinville Road NE opens for the season on Friday, November 27. Cutting your own tree takes a reservation, and the farm releases u-cut reservations on Sunday, November 15, at 8:00 a.m. The farm says u-cut usually sells out the first and second weekend. Pre-cut trees need no reservation, and you can come between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. The u-cut trees are mostly 5 to 7 feet. The pre-cut lot runs from small tabletop trees up to about 15 feet. Wagon rides, hot cocoa, and apple cider are free, and wreaths are in the selling shed. Saws are provided, baling is a small fee, and the crew can carry the tree to your car but cannot tie it down. Leashed dogs are welcome. The farm takes cash, Venmo, cards, and Apple Pay. Prices are not posted yet.

Serres Farm at 20306 NE 50th Street is a small farm on the outskirts of Redmond. The farm says it opens for u-cut trees in December, and its site still shows last season as closed.
